My research is driven by a deep curiosity about how political systems, social structures, and environmental challenges interact to shape the lives of communities, especially in the Global South. I am particularly interested in understanding the ways governance, policy, and societal dynamics respond to complex challenges such as climate change, conflict, and economic inequality. Through my work, I aim to bridge academic inquiry and practical solutions, producing insights that are both analytically rigorous and socially meaningful.
Governance and Public Policy
I am fascinated by the study of governance and public policy, focusing on how institutions function, how policies are designed and implemented, and how accountability and transparency can be strengthened. I explore the mechanisms that enable governments to respond effectively to citizen needs and how inclusive policymaking can foster sustainable development outcomes.
Political Economy and Development
My interest in political economy centers on the interaction between state structures, markets, and societal resources. I investigate how economic policies, institutional capacity, and resource distribution influence development trajectories, social equity, and opportunities for economic growth.
Geopolitics and International Relations
I study global and regional power dynamics, with particular attention to South Asia. My research examines how international relations, security concerns, and cross-border cooperation affect domestic governance, development, and regional stability.
Climate Change, Migration, and Human Security
I focus on how environmental shocks, climate hazards, and resource scarcity drive migration, reshape communities, and impact human security. Living in Bangladesh, one of the world’s most climate-vulnerable countries, I am particularly interested in linking climate resilience, livelihood strategies, and policy responses to enhance community adaptation.
Conflict, Violence, and Social Cohesion
I analyze patterns of political, religious, and ethnic violence, exploring how conflicts emerge, escalate, and can be mitigated. I am particularly drawn to identifying pathways for peacebuilding, social cohesion, and inclusive governance that strengthen communities and reduce vulnerabilities.
